12 Years, Bleeding Issue- Performance of Jesus
This lady who gave her life earnings to doctors for at least twelve years and wiggled herself into a crowd to find Jesus the Healer for a miracle. What isn't considered here is the Mosaic law that a woman who was bleeding vaginally or having a menstrual cycle could not walk around in the temple and, if caught, could suffer death. "The purity system of the Bible chiefly involved the Temple, sacrifices, and priestly gifts, all of which had to be guarded against ritual impurity. The penalty for polluting the Temple is karet, excision from the people of Israel, or a divine decree of death. The Land had to be guarded from moral impurity lest the people of Israel be vomited out of the land as their predecessors had been."- Jewish Women's Archive
Mark 5:25-34, this account highlights the Work of Jesus with accountability. We are given the thoughts of this woman, and it's shared as a testimony, she said to herself, 'if I can just touch his garment, I will be healed.' (Mark 5:28) Her Faith, belief in Christ, was so strong that she risked her life just to touch Him. She had reached a point in her life, she felt like she was at the end of her rope. Very few of us can stand to go to the doctor(s) for months, much less 12 years. As in other miracles, she was healed immediately, and Jesus knew it. He sought to identify her so she could give God the Glory. The disciples didn't understand why Jesus asked who touched Him in a crowd of thousands because they didn't perceive the reason for the question. We often don't know why God does certain things; however, there is a reason, and it's God's reason.
Luke 8:43-48 points things out from a physician's view and when he mentioned that she could not be healed by the most brilliant minds in medicine. He understood that there is a difference between the power of healing of men and the ultimate Power of healing from God through the conduit of Jesus which we who have been ordained with the Holy Ghost (Acts 1:22; 17:31) have been given the same power (Acts 1:8, Luke 2:35, Romans 15:19). Perception vs. reality, the disciples didn't witness the touch of the woman, but she was convicted in her heart when Jesus asked who touched him. It was His verification that sealed the healing because of her Faith moved the virtue in Him, and as the Most High priest, He confirmed her healing (Luke 8:47-48).
Matthew 9:20-22
And, behold, a woman, which was diseased with an issue of blood twelve years, came behind [him], and touched the hem of his garment: For she said within herself, If I may but touch his garment, I shall be whole. But Jesus turned him about, and when he saw her, he said, Daughter, be of good comfort; thy faith hath made thee whole. And the woman was made whole from that hour.
The LORD my Deliverer, Jehovah Mephalti (Psalm 18:2), we thank You for You know our thoughts even before we think them. We praise You because You heal us, and we recover with consciences that Glorify You. We decree and declare blessings upon those who walk in the compassion of Your salvation so that; by the Work of Your Faith, we carry the sick and they recover. Now, for the Kingdom and the Glory of God, we petition, with anointing in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord, and Savior, Amen.
