Find The Truth, The Invitation (10)

Matthew 11:25-30

At that time Jesus answered and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes. Even so, Father: for so it seemed good in thy sight. All things are delivered unto me of my Father: and no man knoweth the Son, but the Father; neither knoweth any man the Father, save the Son, and he to whomsoever the Son will reveal him. Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

In Matthew's context and the people's background, the illustration of Jesus speaking to His followers of His yoke describes a type of halter or harness to incorporate directly one's strength in a direction with a purpose and unity. Our yoke is a symbol that Jesus used as a symbol of servitude. It also emphasizes oppression as a burden (1 Kings 12:11). Our earthly yokes are like iron (Deuteronomy 28:48). Jesus' offering of His yoke demands the breaking of our yoke (Jeremiah 5:5). Will you surrender the breaking of your iron yoke for His?

Jehovah Goelekh, The LORD Thy Redeemer - Isaiah 60:16; we thank You for being the Lord our redeemer, the one who frees us from self-inflicted nonsense. We praise You for the harness of Love, the establishment of a constant act of forgiveness. We decree and declare the blessing (the indwelling of the Holy Spirit) upon those who see Your yoke is easy, so that; as we mature in Christ, we become the fruit of His Glory. Now, for the Kingdom and Glory of God, we petition, with anointing, in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord, and Savior, Amen.
