Experience the Sacrifice

The Give-Up Season series

Experience the Sacrifice

Apostle Paul writes to the church in Philippi the intention of having intimacy with the Jesus of the resurrection and also the fellowship of His sufferings, especially the vocation of being made conformable with His death. There is a particular disposition that gravitates with death, especially the death of a sacrifice. Reflecting on why Jesus Christ gave His life is to avail ourselves to the experience or having an intimacy (in to me see- TD Jakes) moment where we can only visualize why He died to save a wretch like you and me. I have not attained, says Paul, the tedium of His suffering, but I follow the example of His sacrifice in that I depose to a more intimate understanding who Jesus is to me. We should all be compelled to appreciate the experience of our Savior, Christ the Lord.

Philippians 3:10-12

That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death; If by any means I might attain unto the resurrection of the dead. Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus.

The Living God (Joshua 3:10), O that I may know Him in the power of His resurrection, please God, thank You. Make us conformable with the disposition of His death for the atonement of our self inflected nonsense (sin) for this we praise You. We declare and decree blessing over every life attuned to the intimacy (in to me see) of our Savior, so that as we grow in Christ we develop an affection for all that He is to us. For the sake of the Kingdom we pray, with an anointing in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, Amen.
