Why Truth Matters

Why Truth Matters

Jesus, recorded by the Apostle John submits a deep question predicated on the conviction of sin. He knows Truth is the answer but he is way-laid with the predicament of their lack of belief. In His shrew chastisement of the Jewish leaders. They were locked in the substantiation of Mosaic law which called for an eye for an eye or a tooth for a tooth, in short a literal punishment for the harm done to them to be repaid by receiving the same exact pain or hurt and now they were to have found a satisfactory way to exact retribution in a manner that reflects Christ-likeness, turn the cheek; be prepared to endure hardness as a good solider of the cross. A deeper inspection of this passage will reveal that the penalty of the Old Testament would be redeemed by the Blood sacrifice of the Lamb of God and the life, that we live now in the flesh, by the faith of Son of God is greater than the original price of our lost souls. When we who are called by His name give Him permission to represent us then He can apply the price of SIN for us eternally.

John 8:45-46

And because I tell you the truth, ye believe me not. Which of you convinceth me of sin? And if I say the truth, why do ye not believe me?

Matthew 5:38-39

Ye have heard that it hath been said, An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth: But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also.

Jehovah Hashopet (The LORD the Judge, Judges 11:27); we thank You for chastisement to strengthen us. We praise You for the prudence to turn the other cheek when handled unjustly. We declare and decree blessings upon those who follow Your Words and the exemption of Your Ways in Truth, so that the glorification of Your righteous instills the pathways to the Kingdom to the seeker. Now, for the sake of the Kingdom and for the Glory of God, we petition, with an anointing in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, Amen.
