Truth, Who Will You Obey?

The background of Acts 5:27-29 reveals the historic acts of some true saints of God who were being tested because they were determined to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ in spite of the threat of the religious council. Timothy presents the Truth with consequence that all scripture is breathed by God and the consequences are teaching, correction, approval and disapproval, and training. The stand that Peter and the other apostles took was an anthem to Obedience. For God we live and for God we die! What a wonderful position to take in light of strong punishment, even the penalty of death we all must choose to live and die for Christ. We are challenged everyday to make a decision, whether micro decisions or major decisions we must constantly make the choice to live this moral life for an expected eternal end.

2 Timothy 3:16

All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness,

Acts 5:27-29

And when they had brought them, they set them before the council: and the high priest asked them, Saying, Did not we straitly command you that ye should not teach in this name? and, behold, ye have filled Jerusalem with your doctrine, and intend to bring this man's blood upon us. Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men. The God of our fathers raised up Jesus, whom ye slew and hanged on a tree.

Elohenu Olam, Our Everlasting God (Psalm 48:14); for the richness in the revealed Truth of Your Word we come in a spirit of oneness to say thank You. For the opportunity to believe Your revealed Word, for the teaching, reproof, correction and training, we joyfully lift our voices in praise. We decree and declare blessings upon those who have bent the knee at the foot of the cross to declare that a life without the atoning Word of Christ is all most important, so that everyone that hears will hear the Truth in Your Word for the time is drawing near when all men, women and children will bow to the name of Jesus our Savior. Now, for the sake of the Kingdom and for the Glory of God, we petition, with an anointing in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, Amen.
