Taming Our Tongue

Biblical LifeHacks series

Taming Our Tongue Character Formation – This small member of such notoriety- the tongue, symbolically represents the mouth and the words that come from our mouths. Functionally, the tongue just helps with the enunciation of words and eases pronunciation. The real criminal is the lack of filter that allows us to say things unbridled. James warns us that speaking without thinking is evil and is as bad as a deadly poison

No psychological filter, no temperance and that leaves us with raw uncensored comments or in other words, whatever comes to your mind. It can be base, sarcastic, venomist or downright mean and non-caring. Therefore controlling the tongue requires a conditioning of the spirit and the Christ-like transformation of the mind.

The hack: being Christ-like means to understand and practice using filters that will not allow you to attack or demean others at the drop of a hat or practice or in the twinkle of an eye.

James 3:7-8

For every kind of beasts, and of birds, and of serpents, and of things in the sea, is tamed, and hath been tamed of mankind: But the tongue can no man tame; [it is] an unruly evil, full of deadly poison.

Jehovah Elohim Yeshua, The Son of God (Matthew 16:16); we give You thanks for symbolic tongue which represent so many things, spiritually and naturally. We give You praise for the temperance that separates good from bad and kindness from evil. We decree and declare blessings upon those who found Christ as their filter, so that words that they speak will become the calm, healing salve to the soul. Now, for the sake of the Kingdom and for the Glory of God, we petition, with an anointing in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, Amen.
