Components for Discerning God’s Will for Your Life

Obedience – Many of us suffer from a lack of spiritual understanding for whereas there is no problem with our hearing, we tend to suffer with spiritual identification, especially the voice of God. Samuel demonstrated this in this passage of scripture. There are many nuggets to be gleaned from this story; however we wish to emphasis Samuels’ obedience. He heard the Lord but didn’t know His Voice. There are times when we as everyday Christians will hear a God but not hear Him or obey what He says.

To know God is to read His Word, we live in the age of open revelation and He has spoken and it is written.

The hack: if you are unsure that you have heard the Lord, ask someone more experienced than yourself.

1 Samuel 3:1, 9-10

And the child Samuel ministered unto the LORD before Eli. And the word of the LORD was precious in those days; there was no open vision… Therefore Eli said unto Samuel, Go, lie down: and it shall be, if he call thee, that thou shalt say, Speak, LORD; for thy servant heareth. So Samuel went and lay down in his place. And the LORD came, and stood, and called as at other times, Samuel, Samuel. Then Samuel answered, Speak; for thy servant heareth.

The LORD, the Most High God, Jehovah El Elyon (Genesis 14:22); we thank You for the Word, spoken and written. We praise You with great jubilee for spiritual guidance where we are confirmed in obedience. We decree and declare blessings upon those who meditate and concentrate on Your Word and hear, trust and obey, so that by the blessings of the Holy Spirit guided by Your Word richly endow us, so that by the strands that bind us we excel in our service to You. Now, for the sake of the Kingdom and for the Glory of God, we petition, with an anointing in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, Amen.
