Traits Of A Sanctified Imagination

Biblical LifeHacks series

Traits Of A Sanctified Imagination God-dependent — A dependence on God is the most important principle of developing a sanctified imagination (cf., Matthew 22:37 – 40, Deuteronomy 6:5). To have a sanctified imagination we banish other thoughts of what could be out of our minds. Because of our fallenness, all aspects of our mental functioning, including human condition and imagination, are inadequate.

A God-dependent imagination, acknowledges that God is more than adequate for the task of keeping us fresh with ideas.

The hack: Think on these things, the things that are of God.

Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

The LORD my Shield, Jehovah Magen (Deuteronomy 33:29); we thank You for powerful and sharp Word of God. We praise You for the dividing of our soul and spirit to Your Glory. We decree and declare blessings upon those who think on the piercing Word that ignites our thoughts, so that the works that we do by faith discern our thoughts and intents of our hearts to do the Will of God. Now, for the sake of the Kingdom and for the Glory of God, we petition, with an anointing in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, Amen.
