I Thirst

Ultimate Sacrifice (Holy Week) series

I Thirst

Now that the work of the cross was finished Jesus took a moment for Himself and said, I thirst. The impact of His work on earth was done by faith and only after He had made sure that the work was done, Jesus took a moment to say “I Thirst.” The commentators note this moments as one of the last sayings on the cross and so we lift it as a sacred moment. When you think about what He’s done for you, will you thirst? Will you drink from the fountain that never runs dry?

John 19:28 After this, Jesus knowing that all things were now accomplished, that the scripture might be fulfilled, saith, I thirst.

The God of Glory (Psalm 29:3), we thank You because in Your humanity You by faith gave all for us. We understand that we can give praise You because You paid the price of the ultimate sacrifice. We decree and declare blessings upon the people who for the sake of the Kingdom drink from the fountain that never runs dry, so that when this life is over we will yet thirst after righteousness. For the sake of the Kingdom we pray, with an anointing in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, Amen.
