When Struggling Financially?
Only God can take a mustard seed of Faith and move a mountain in our life. In Mark 12:41-44 and, Luke 21:1-4, the narrative presents the offering of a poor widow who gave a contribution of two mites. If you have traveled abroad you would recognize this as the equivalency to the currency that has lesser value to the US dollar and here we are talking about change, something less than a penny. The emphasis in the struggle is how you handle your finances. From our point of view, it is easier to give big when you have little because in our minds we process the little of little differently than we process the little of big. Money is money, whether you are picking up pennies or thousands of dollars, it all counts.
In 1 Kings 17:12, the story of the woman with only a handful of flour and a cruse of oil, preparing to die, highlights the necessity to have faith. This precursor to Faith in Christ is just a foreshadow of how powerful belief is. Our struggle with finances denotes mismanagement and a lack of financial intelligence. The struggle is not the number of resources but our capability to manage them.
Zechariah 4:10, promotes us to appreciate the small beginnings. We choose to wallow in our poverty; it’s a matter of choice; there are too many good stories of success that expound upon where people start with nothing and become billionaires. The struggle is not the amount of finance but in the capability to manage what you have. Luke 12:48, if you have been given little, little is expected but if your instinct is to take the little and make more than the more will be given unto you.
Psalm 37:16
A little that a righteous man hath is better than the riches of many wicked.
Abba Father, most Righteous One, we thank you in the oneness of spirit for the little which is made much in your hand. We praise you for spiritual overflow like the woman with the meal and bottle of oil. We decree and declare blessings upon those who give when they have much as they give when they have little, so that; by our Faith and works we see the fruit of Your Kingdom understand the blessing of our sacrifice. So, now for the Kingdom and the Glory of God, we petition, with anointing in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord, and Savior, Amen.
