Find The Truth, The Invitation (15)

Matthew 11:25-30

At that time Jesus answered and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes. Even so, Father: for so it seemed good in thy sight. All things are delivered unto me of my Father: and no man knoweth the Son, but the Father; neither knoweth any man the Father, save the Son, and he to whomsoever the Son will reveal him. Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

The examination of the yoke of Jesus bears a conclusive conversation; the spiritual yoke on us is the single yoke of SIN. Although Adam & Eve were guilty of the same offense, the act was individual. We are all convicted of SIN and come short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23). Christ offers us His dual yoke or shared obligation (Matthew 11:29); he provides us with the opportunity to join Him as the traditions of the time indicate that when yoking oxen, a younger ox is yoked with a mature experienced ox. There are many analogies with magniloquent illustrations regarding the inexperienced joined to the mature. Christ is our mature brother, and He knows exactly how much we can bear (Hebrews 2:11, 16). His yoke is easy because He is taking the weight of our SIN (Galatians 2:10) as our brother. Can you carry the atonement of your SIN?

El Kanna, Jealous God - Exodus 20:5; we thank You for being a jealous God, a God who does not share us with any other. We praise you for sharing our yoke and covering us with Your Grace. We declare and decree the blessing (the indwelling of the Holy Spirit) upon those who know the strength of Your yoke and the burden You hold, so that, as we release our yoke and share by sacrifice the life that You have given us. Now, for the Kingdom and Glory of God, we petition, with anointing, in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, Amen.
