The Healing Visit - 9
Jeremiah 15:15-18
O LORD, thou knowest: remember me, and visit me, and revenge me of my persecutors; take me not away in thy longsuffering: know that for thy sake I have suffered rebuke. Thy words were found, and I did eat them; and thy word was unto me the joy and rejoicing of mine heart: for I am called by thy name, O LORD God of hosts. I sat not in the assembly of the mockers, nor rejoiced; I sat alone because of thy hand: for thou hast filled me with indignation. Why is my pain perpetual, and my wound incurable, [which] refuseth to be healed? wilt thou be altogether unto me as a liar, [and as] waters [that] fail?
In this portion of scripture, the Prophet Jeremiah begs to ask, "why is my pain perpetual" or why is it taking so long to heal, or will the pain of my oppressors never end? Does the pain of my oppressors overwhelm me? Will not God relive me from my wounds? Jeremiah thought of the Lord as a fountain of living water (Jeremiah 2:13). Do we expect God to protect us even we are not fully confident of His love for us (Jeremiah 15:15)? Did Jeremiah forget the words of Psalm 27:3 when King David was surrounded by his enemies? Are we redeemed by Psalm 27:4?
El Rai, God Seest Me - Genesis 16:13; we thank You for being the God who sees us. We praise You for the understanding of perpetual pain and how You never fail us. Therefore, we decree and declare the blessing (the indwelling of the Holy Spirit) upon those who find their wounds incurable; so that, we who see no remedy in healing will witness the revelation of Your Grace. Now, for the Kingdom and Glory of God, we petition, with the anointing of the Holy Ghost, in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord, and Savior, Amen.
