Troubled Times (COVID-19 pandemic series)
Though we aren’t promised an easy life, we are told that Christ will be there with us when we believe in Him, that he won’t give us more than we can handle with His help, and even our hard times can be used to glorify God.
The Lord Will Not Fail!
Deuteronomy 31:6, 8
Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the LORD thy God, he [it is] that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee. ... And the LORD, He [it is] that doth go before thee; He will be with thee, He will not fail thee, neither forsake thee: fear not, neither be dismayed.
The book of Deuteronomy in the Old Testament, details the Grace of God before the sacrifice of Christ, now giving us a prescription for eternal life. With that understanding, the encouragement written here by Moses is the capsulation of how God will not fail us. The common confusion of whether or not to fear is wrapped in mortality. God cannot fail, and only our flesh in mortality fails us.
El Elohe Yisrael, The mighty God of Israel - Genesis 33:20; for the encouragement to be strong and to be of good courage, we give thanks. For the goodness of the Lord who saves us, we give You praise. We decree and declare the blessing (the indwelling of the Holy Spirit) upon those who stand in the shadow of eternal life, so that; the provision of our Peace is evident with our afflictions. Now, for the Kingdom and Glory of God, we petition, with anointing, in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord, and Savior, Amen.
