When You Don't Believe

Matthew 17:15-20

Lord, have mercy on my son: for he is lunatick, and sore vexed: for ofttimes he falleth into the fire, and oft into the water. And I brought him to thy disciples, and they could not cure him. Then Jesus answered and said, O faithless and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you? how long shall I suffer you? bring him hither to me. And Jesus rebuked the devil; and he departed out of him: and the child was cured from that very hour. Then came the disciples to Jesus apart, and said, Why could not we cast him out? And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you.

This account of the disciples facing the disillusion of being a disciple of Jesus but not having the power is a wake-up call; this is what happens when you don't believe. You can witness miracles but have no clue on how to duplicate them. We are focusing on verse 20, where Jesus addresses His disciples. They wanted to know why they were ineffective, and it all boiled down to one simple thing. They had a lack of Faith. Jesus used this example to show them that if they had faith the size of a mustard seed, they could do a great thing and even greater things than cast a demon out of a child.

Elohei Tehillati, God of my praise -Psalm 109:1; we gladfully thank you for the power of demonstrated Faith. For the evidence of Faith, we bring praise for the establishment of the Power of Jesus Christ in our lives. We declare and decree the blessing (the indwelling of the Holy Spirit) upon those seeking the Power of God, so that; by Faith, the size of a mustard seed can conquer demons. Now, for the Kingdom and Glory of God, we petition, with anointing, in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord, and Savior, Amen.
