Forsaken?

As Jesus hung in unknown agony on that cross hewed from a tree. After speaking salvation and eternal life to the thief beside Him, He cries out loud, speaking to the Father, “My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?”

Are you in a position where you feel that God has forsaken you? It’s easy to think that we are forsaken when we are dealing with trials and tribulations, and Jesus being human and God at the same time, had a moment where He faced mortality like never before, however, He had to suffer to be the sacrifice for the sins of mankind. He had to suffer and die to pay the penalty that justice demanded. What do we give Him in return?

Matthew 27:46

And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? that is to say, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?

The LORD, Thy Redeemer (Isaiah 60:16), we thank You for the ninth hour of the day when Jesus cried. We praise You for understanding that pain makes us uncomfortable and confuses our thoughts. We decree and declare blessings that Your love for us will not forsake us; so that, we don’t lose focus of the gift that you gave us in Your Son. Now, for the Kingdom and the Glory of God, we petition, with anointing in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord, and Savior, Amen.
