The Expected End

The Give-Up Season series

The Expected End

The preparation for the blessing of His death, burial, and resurrection allows us to inspect and study intimate details. As we venture through this season of Lent, we give up things, material things, things that encumber us, bind us to our morality, our sense of what we desire in His life. Luke shouts out to us to repent unless we wish to perish. At times we fail to see the expected end because we are disillusioned with fake news, unrealistic realities, or catfish stories. One goal during this season that we are giving up "things" is to open ourselves to the Voice of God in our wilderness. The expected end will be that we perish, not just in this immediate life but in the life everlasting. If we are short-sighted, then we will miss the purpose of His death, burial, and resurrection, and that would be tragic.

Luke 13:3

I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.

The LORD Whose Name Is Jealous (Exodus 34:14), we joyously give up those things that distract us, and for this, we say thank You. When we would choose life rather than death from sin, we give you praise. We declare and decree blessings upon those who deny themselves for selfish gain so that by faith and deeds, the Kingdom of God expands and brings increase to the Glory of God. Now, for the Kingdom and the Glory of God, we petition, with anointing in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord, and Savior, Amen.
