Nia: Purpose

Kwanzaa series #5

Nia: Purpose

Represented by the second green candle on the Kinara, to the left of Umoja, symbolizes the illumination of the principle of Purpose.

The fifth of the seven principles is Purpose spoken in Swahili- Nia. The principle of Purpose is to individually embrace, the practice of making a resolution for an focused and steadfast decision specifically, to address the common needs of the many. In this principle, we recognize that all things work together for the good and for them that love God, so that we who have come together in spirit of Christ, work as family in the community of Faith.

Romans 8:28 (Purpose) And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

Omega God, we bring thanks for the determination of doing just what You said. We leap with praise for the resolution of a steadfast and focused decision to do Your Will with a spirit of oneness. We decree and declare blessings of mercy, so that we who are called according to His purpose will stay the course of His Will. This we pray with an anointing in the name of Jesus. Amen.
