The Chosen Fast
Following the example of Christ, we prepare to loosen the bonds of wickedness, to release heavy burdens, to bring freedom to the oppressed and break every chain! The importance of fasting, to prepare ourselves to do service for the Lord is remarkable and noteworthy. The denial of our selves leads to the experience of the Cross where the sacrifice of Jesus is realized in our lives; He gave Himself for us that we might live, ego to die in Christ is to live in Him.
Isaiah 58:6-7
Is not this the fast that I have chosen? to loose the bands of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free, and that ye break every yoke? Is it not to deal thy bread to the hungry, and that thou bring the poor that are cast out to thy house? when thou seest the naked, that thou cover him; and that thou hide not thyself from thine own flesh?
Son of God (Matthew 16:16), we choose this fast to loosen the bonds of wickedness, to undo heavy burdens, and for this, we say thank You. We decide to let the oppressed have freedom through Your Word and to break yokes in Your Name, and we give You the praise. We decree and declare blessings for the bread that feeds the hungry and the outcast; so that, the naked are covered, and Your Love is revealed. For the sake of the Kingdom, we pray, with an anointing in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord, and Savior, Amen.
