Ujima: Collective Work and Responsibility

Represented by the first green candle on the Kinara, to the left of Umoja, symbolizes the illumination of the principle of Collective Work and Responsibility.

The third of the seven principles is Collective Work and Responsibility spoken in Swahili- Ujima.

The principle of Collective Work and Responsibility is to embrace individually the practice of making a resolution for the common for the needs of the many. In theses principles, we recognize that two or more make the work easier for what we do in Christ Jesus. In responsibility we have different gifts according to grace and we lift up one another in that which comes together in unity so that we are not easily separated or divided; we who have come together in spirit of Christ, work as brothers and sisters in the community of Faith.

Ecclesiastes 4:9-12 (Collective Work) Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labour. For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow: but woe to him that is alone when he falleth; for he hath not another to help him up. Again, if two lie together, then they have heat: but how can one be warm alone. And if one prevail against him, two shall withstand him; and a threefold cord is not quickly broken.

Romans 12:6-8 (Responsibility) Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, whether prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of faith; Or ministry, let us wait on our ministering: or he that teacheth, on teaching; Or he that exhorteth, on exhortation: he that giveth, let him do it with simplicity; he that ruleth, with diligence; he that sheweth mercy, with cheerfulness.

Lord of All Understanding, we come with a spirit oneness offering thanks for the Good reward of our labour and the spiritual gifts differing according to Your grace. We lift up praise for the collective work and responsibility we have made in a Spirit of Unity for the sake Your Kingdom our community. We declare and decree bountiful blessings upon those who apply the collective work and responsibility of Your Kingdom, so that those who work together and uplift each other will reap if they fail not. This we pray with an anointing in the name of Jesus. Amen.
